LOST/FOUND?

I didn’t know it was a dream. It seemed real. I stood in a deserted corridor enclosing me with its darkness. I looked around for light but could find no trace. I could feel my heartbeat racing. It said me to move but I stood still. I gathered myself and walked few yards. It had no end. I felt the corridor lengthening for each step I kept forward. I tried to move backwards to find the end which could be my beginning but darkness started to drip more over me. Unable to stand there, I took the same path in search of help. I walked for hours but could find none. My heart felt heavy. My eyes were filled. I fell down gasping for air. Am I the only one left in this world? Again, I looked around. Isn’t there someone to help me? Isn’t there someone who feels my absence, someone who comes to look for me…? I lay there, still, losing hope. Suddenly, I heard a sound. I crawled searching for its source. But nothing. Is there really no one? When I started to feel the misery of loneliness, I felt an illusion of human presence. The sound was human. The feel it gave me was so human. I felt joy. No, it was pleasure. I felt an urge to find that human. The soul which has come to save me, MY SAVIOUR! I walked in search of someone, the one. The only one who really cares for me. I was nearing. I could feel it. I stopped seeing a silhouette. It did not move, even I. I stared at the silhouette for a long time trying to recognize who it was. Vain. I took a step forward. It too did. I stared, it stood still. I took few more steps. It too did. But it was in no way nearing me. I raised my arm, forward, welcoming it. It too did. I lost hope that I would reach it. So there is no one who could really help, I thought. At that thought, the silhouette started fading. My heart skipped a beat. The only one who has come to save me is leaving now. I couldn’t let it go. Only then I realized, I haven’t spoken to it. I was thinking why didn’t I ask who are you? Or at least ask for help? Before I was ready, it was already out,My voice. I have asked ‘Who are you?’ I was shocked. It asked me the same question. Is it an echo?, I thought. No, it voiced along with me. With no patience to wait any long and in an urge to know who it was I tried to pull it and forced myself towards it. In a moment everything was gone. I looked around. I saw a light around the corner. I ran ahead. The light closed my eyes as I went through it. I was out; it was a ground full of people. I could find many familiar faces. My mom, my dad, many of my friends….. They were all looking for me, waiting for me. So they all knew that I was in there…. Then why didn’t they come to help me? In a moment everything splattered away and I woke up in my bed.

I had dreams almost every day. But this dream is different. Someone wants to tell me something, I thought. I felt uneasy every night from then with my heart daggering me to know who was that silhouette. Sleepless nights prolonged and one fine day I thought ‘what if it was me…?’. That night I met the silhouette. Yes, it was me. I spoke to me myself.

The world is full of opportunities, to succeed, both good and bad. There are people who are good hearted too. But to meet them and grab the opportunities I must come out of myself and be prepared to reach out. If I lose my hope and self confidence, no one can help me. I’ll be lost forever. Anyone can help me but they cannot reach out to me beyond a boundary. This is what I saw in my dream. It depicted me that self-confidence; hope and hard work are the three important things necessary for success. Only I can help myself to achieve them. I’ve learnt it. Daring to enter into the real world………………

So what do you think the topic of this article should be? LOST or FOUND?

Your piece was like a suspense for me... at the start. The character was in despair wanting to reach out but it felt like no one is offering a hand. Then, as it continues he was given hope when a silhouette came into view realizing that it's himself when he woke up. Personally, i liked your conclusion about opportunity, grabbing and preparing to reach for it; though at times we have choices to pick from.

I, also, recommend that you must have faith to what you're doing or to your goal and have faith to our Almighty Father as well, in order to succeed because it will serve as your foundation.

The topic of the article is nice and for me it's like he has been wandering for quite a while but after apprehending i think he found what he lost -- 'self-confidence; hope and hard work'..
=)

hai vidhya dear . i am charu.
it was fantastic!when i saw the theme ,i thought it would be a detective story.it was very interesting theme.you have very different theme. " The world is full of opportunities, to succeed, both good and bad. There are people who are good hearted too. But to meet them and grab the opportunities I must come out of myself and be prepared to reach out. If I lose my hope and self confidence, no one can help me." i suggest this line is very truthful.

i think you would be a good writer in future.keep a pen ready for an autograph for me.

" When will I be able to sing this words"
--Nemesis (the band)

Hello Vidhya, I think we haven't been introduced before. I'm Puck. It's nice to meet you. My affection towards non-fiction took me here and I came upon your article.

1. ( first thing's first) What do I think the topic of this article should be?
options: (A) lost. (B) found.

Ans= None.

The topic is the subject matter. Something you talk about ( in this piece which seems to be this one 'dream' you had) so we can't actually choose the topic because you already talked about it thus chose yourself.
We can however choose the 'title' and my answer in that case stands for: Lost and found.

Because this piece largely deals with a confusing dream. That do not depict that self-confidence, hope and hard-work are the three most necessary things for success. (according to my knowledge)

The dream deals with, more or less, you. who first is stranded and alone then who finds somebody and fails to communicate. The inability to make contact brings out frustrations. at length, you get to talk with it and realize it's you who you're talking with.

Doesn't really symbolize anything. ( according to me)

But I like how you told it. In this non-linear way which creates some genuine characteristics. But some of the words are oddly placed. and you messed up the tenses in a few of the sentences, I've noticed.

Anyway, It was a pleasure to read your work and I hope I get to read more.

hello puck, nice to meet you. thank you for your review:-) happy to get a big review on my work. actually i felt that self confidence, hope and hard work are understood without words there.
